Forests – From Romance to the Future

Forests. From Romance to the Future
Museum Sinclair-Haus, Bad Homburg, Germany
16 March – 11 August 2024

‘For many people today, forests are places where they can seek relaxation and gain strength. Without the Romantic era, this special relationship with forests would hardly be conceivable. The exhibition is spread across three museums, working together to explore connections between Romanticism and contemporary ideas about the forest – especially against the background of current ecological crises.  Organised jointly by three museums – the German Romanticism Museum Frankfurt, the Senckenberg Naturmuseum Frankfurt and the Sinclair-Haus Museum Bad Homburg – the exhibition offers an interdisciplinary journey of discovery through the forests of the past, present and future.’

The Sinclair House Museum focuses on the arts of both eras and explores how human-forest connections are imagined in the space of possibilities of art.
